The Tabiano spas were known of in the 17th century but weren’t developed until two centuries later when their importance was recognised. The fame of the three springs in this little town near Parma is due to the fact that the water contains sulphur, sulphate, calcium and magnesium and has a particularly high content of sulphurous gas. This makes them almost unique in Europe.
Situated a few kilometres from the spa station of Salsomaggiore, Tabiano Terme offers its visitors a well-equipped thermal pavilion for treatments and specific cure cycles, and a modern health centre where you can try face and body treatments and beauty medicine.
Tabiano’s mineral waters are particularly indicated for respiratory and ear, nose and throat conditions, skin problems, gynaecological disorders and diseases of the metabolism. The spa centre offers a variety of treatments including drinking the water, irrigation, inhalation, baths and mud therapy.
When the treatments are over, or as a pleasant way of passing the time between treatments, there’s nothing better

than a trip into the surrounding area in search of romantic castles, enchanting little towns and beautiful parks. Nearby Parma is not the only destination – amongst the most popular places to visit are the beautiful castles in Torrechiara and Fontanellato.
