| In Umbria, only a short distance from Perugia and Lake Trasimeno rises Monte Solare, associated from ancient times with the cult of Apollo, the sun god. Here, among the various green of the olives groves, vineyards and woods, stands the old, noble Villa of Monte Solare.
The walled Italian garden, the chapel of Santa Lucia and the orangery enclose the Villa in an atmosphere of tranquillity. The Villa retains unchanged many of its original characteristics: large fireplaces, walls decorated with murals, ancient terracotta floors and period furnishing. In the restaurant one find traditional Italian cooking interpreted with creativity and refinement. The cellar contains over 400 Umbrian wines.
The beautiful Villa di Monte Solare has the intimate and happy atmosphere of a place adored and cared for, and guests soon feel at home in the warm ambience created by the owners, Rosemarie and Filippo Iannarone. Built in 1780, on 15th-century foundations, Monte Solare was, from the beginning, a patrician house and in 1885 was bought by an aristocratic family who restored the charming 16th-century chapel in the grounds and redecorated the interior.

Take the Autostrada A1 direction Florence-Rome and take the exit of Chiusi-Chianciano. After the paytoll turn right to Chiusi. Go straight through Chiusi and ca. 2 km after the village you will reach a cross. Turn right in direction Citta della Pieve. Short after Città della Pieve, passing the walls of the town right hand side, turn left onto the road SS220 direction Perugia-Tavernelle. Follow the signs to Piegaro and the Tavernelle always in direction of Perugia. Pass the village of Tavernelle, after 1km turn left towards Colle San Paolo.
Go straight ahead for 4 km and you'll reach Villa Di Monte Solare.
