| Today, the Hotel del Campo of Matera is a 4 Star Hotel, the first one ever established in the city of Sassi, during a period in which the strong increase in tourist traffic – and the subsequent development of accommodations – had not yet occurred. Dependent upon the position of the room, either electric shutters or high-tech sun-shading drapes have been installed in order to reduce sunray penetration up to 95%. The courtesy kit includes shower gel, soap, zen detergent, body lotion, makeup removal kit, sealed personal soap, and slippers. The suites also offer convenient bathrobes.

The hotel is located in the Matera zone, a few metres from the intersection of Via Gravina along the SS7; the bypass that gives access to the city. Shortly after the intersection, you should travel a few metres and take the first right-hand turn.
By Car:
From the Bologna-Taranto motorway:
- Exit at Bari Nord, and head towards Altamura-Matera (SS 99).
From the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway:
- Exit at Sicignano degli Alburni and head towards Potenza.
- Follow directions to Metaponto (SS 407 Basentana) until you reach Matera.
- From the SS 106 towards Metaponto, follow the signs to Matera.
By Plane:
The closest airport is Bari-Palese (60 km).
