| The Epoch Abode Pietra di Ponente is located on a hill on the slope of the Roman Castles, between the common ones of Ciampino, Marino and Grottaferrata. The farmhouse, a property of a noble “marinese” family, was surrounded by farms tilled as vineyards, and produced one of the most prized wines of the castles. The building, which was also the owner's residence, had a cellar and a most spacious cavern for the conservation of the wine. Cavern that may be regarded a characteristic element of the Epoch Abode.
Recently the Ancient Building has been completely restructured, and smartly restored. Inside there are spacious bedrooms and double suites until fifty square meters large. All of them are equipped with bathrooms provided with bathtubs or hydro massage douche, hair- dryer, climatic installation, safety-device, satellite TV, telephone, internet ADSL, safe deposit, freezer. The interior decor, respectful of the history of the building, is composed from antique furniture of poor art of middle ‘800. The Abode Pietra di Ponente has a spacious hall obtained out of the ancient cellar, characterized by a large vault within which there is the reception hall, two small drawing rooms with an ancient fireplace and, on a higher level, the small breakfast room.
The breakfast, waited without charge in the bedroom or in the park or in the breakfast room, is characterized by a wide assortment of genuine and biological products typical.
In the park, nine thousand square meters wide, stretched around our residence, there are, together with centenarian olive trees, the typical plants of the Roman countryside: palm trees of all kinds, pines, ilexes, lemon trees, orange trees, rosaries, and flowered bushes. There are wide spots on the covered and uncovered terraces, where it is possible to enjoy the open air and, after reservation, to be waited a breakfast or a meal. There are corners where one can relax enjoying a panoramic view of Rome and the beautiful hills surrounding our Site. |

By Train:
A free shuttle service is available from the train station, Ciampino airport and the underground station of Anagnina. A shuttle service is also available to/from Fiumicino Airport (fee required).
By Car:
From the G.R.A. (Grande Raccordo Anulare, the orbital motorway) take the exit to Via Appia and continue towards Albano and Marino.
- Go past the junction for Ciampino Airport and take the right towards Via dei Laghi - Marino.
- Continue along the main roads (cross a level crossing) and turn left around another level crossing (acqua acetosa).
- Once you have crossed the populated area, you will find Via Doganale; turn right and the hotel is located 100 metres along on the left.
